Pride in London Parade Day 2019
A staple in the UK Pride season festivities, Pride in London has announced the Parade Day line up for this year, Saturday 6th July, and it’s an absolute BANGER!
The parade will set off from Portland Place at 12 midday, moving down Oxford Circus, along Regent Street to Piccadilly Circus, Lower Regent Street, Pall Mall and then passing Trafalgar Square before finishing on Whitehall. The crowds will be in full force on either side of the road as they take in the glittery spectacle of the parade. Each year it gets more extravagant and I am absolutely OK with that! The more glitter, the better!
There are several stages this year, full of entertainment throughout the day. Here’s what we are looking forward to on the day:
Entertainment
The West End smash hit, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie will be putting on a show for the crowds in Trafalgar Square, which is set to go down a storm. The story is one of emotion and love, and the most perfect one to be told at a Pride celebration. I cannot WAIT!
The highlight of the day has to be the headliners, Willam, Scarlet Envy & Soju of RuPaul’s Drag Race. They take to the stage at 18:35 and promise to put on a spectacle. If you’ve ever seen the shows, you’ll know to expect the unexpected with this trio!
Billy Porter follows the dazzling trio of Queens. After recently bursting into the spotlight in the award winning show Pose, he’s going to take to the stage and blow away the crowd. He is simply majestic and we cannot WAIT to see what he has in store for us!
There is plenty of entertainment over on the Cabaret Stage, with comedy, music and fun! Kinky Boots takes to the Women’s Stage at 12:35, and across at the World area, you can expect to see Sinnita! The choice of entertainment throughout the day is simply astounding, eclectic and full of life!
Merchandise, Shops & Stalls
There will be a plethora of shops and stalls across Central London on the day, including the likes of Amazon Music, Pride in London Merchandise and Amnesty International UK in Trafalgar Square. Over in Leicester Square you can expect to find British Heart Foundation, Indigo Moon and Maytree Respite Centre. Soho Square is home to Eco Glitter Company, Fascist Panties, Galop and many more worthy causes. Plenty more stores adorn the local area, so make sure to check out the full listing by clicking here.
After Parties
The city will be alive in the evening, with lots of LGBTQ+ shows, club nights and entertainment. GAY announced their Line Up over on their Facebook page – Alexandra Burke, Aja, Plastique Tiara and Becky Hill, so that looks to be a perfect party!
We’ll keep up to date with what else is on offer across the city in the run up to Parade Day!
