Here’s to the future.
2020 was an absolute mess, but thankfully, we managed to escape. We had casualties, we had damages, and we had a monumental mess, but hopefully, 2021 brings a little more positivity.
Last year, we faced a Pandemic like no other. The COVID-19 Virus seemed to appear relatively quickly, and plunge the country (and world) into a severe dilemma. Restrictions became “normality” for us, and all of the things that we take for granted, such as the Cinema, Theme Parks, Festivals, and even Shopping were closed with a moment’s notice. The damage was (and continues to be) catastrophic for entire sectors.
Now we are in 2021, and things feel the same. We’re at the beginning of Lockdown 3.0, the third since March 2020, and there seems very little to be positive about. However, there are some saving graces this year that we need to focus on, in order to get us through these troubling times:
- We have three confirmed Vaccines for use across the UK.
- Two Vaccines are currently being distributed, with a third coming on stream in Q2 of 2021.
- The Government has confirmed that there are enough Vaccine doses for every adult in the UK.
- Shops and Supermarkets, including Tesco, Morrisons, and Sainsbury’s are now taking enforcement action against maskless shoppers.
We didn’t have ANY of the above for the most part of 2020, so these are huge steps moving forward in fighting this virus and eradicating it from our lives. In a time where we have very little to feel positive about, this news is absolute gold.
The one, single most important fact that has got me through this Pandemic, endless restrictions and repeated, monotonous Lockdowns is simple, clear and true. This is all temporary. Whilst it feels like it’ll never disappear, this really will soon be over. In the grand scheme of things, in the bigger picture, this will form a small part of our lives, and we’ll definitely be able to remember it for years to come, if not the rest of our lives. It’s a mess, its scary, and it’s a really weird period of time, but again, This is all temporary.
Keep hold of that. We’ll get through this.
